In the morning we/ driver ,tour guide/ will pick you up at your hotel and start the trip to the national park "Khugnu mountain & Tarna''. Commonly it is named by travellers as a ''Mini Gobi'', ''elsentasarkhai''. the destination is situated in about 280km from UB on paved road. Mini gobi is pretty popular area for domestic travellers and foreign tourists. Mini gobi also gives a great chance tourists to see mongolian gobi desert who has no time to go to the south great gobi, because mini gobi contains exact atmosphere and images of gobi desert however it is smaller than south gobi.
Travellers normally do a short camelriding on the dune, taking pictures with camels, horseriding, exploring authentic local nomadic life & culture. There is also a small buddist temple in unique location of ''Khugnu Khan'' mountain.
This place is surrounded by gorgeous sandslope and granite rocky mountains. We could do camelriding and stay in a ger.
In the morning after breakfast we will drive around 1 hour and reach ancient capital city kharkhorum at the active period of 13th century.
Grandson of Chinggiskhaan Khubilai governed that city and unfornutely he moved capital Kharkhorum of great empire of Mongolia to Beijing in china in the 13th century. To be very honest that city now looks one of typical modern village in Mongolia, but especial thing is there are some historical heritages, monuments from that period and also many tourist camps , guesthouses and new statues, museums which is showing the history related to the 13th century and Mongolian history. It is still touristic place and many tourists visit there every year.
First buddist monastery in Mongolia ''Erdene zuu'' is situated in this town, everyday tourists visit to the monastery. This year /2026/ holds great anniversary of 440 years of ''Erdene zuu'' monastery
After breakfast we drive back to Ulaanbaatar.
